J.Vigas SA inaugurates in Extremadura a cork stoppers factory to control traceability from the beginning to the end

J.Vigas SA, leading company of the cork sector, inaugurated on April 18 in San Vicente de Alcántara (Badajoz) new facilities where it will carry out the first steps of the cork stopper manufacturing process (it takes it out in the pastures of Extremadura chosen, first classification and discard of defects in plates, rebanes, perforations and first classification of plugs).
In Palafrugell installations (Girona) the rest of the manufacturing and finishing processes and controls will continue to be carried out.

VIMATAP15, which is the name of the factory in Extremadura, was born with the aim of controlling traceability from start to finish. The proximity and knowledge of the cork oak forest allows us to better select the first material and apply the most demanding quality controls.

Vimatap15 is the result of the commitment to quality, innovation and research of two families: one from Extremadura and another from Catalonia, with a lot of experience and professionalism in the cork industry.

The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Extremadura, Mr. Guillermo Fernández Vara, the Minister of Economy and Infrastructure Mr. Jose Luis Navarro, among other authorities.
