J.VIGAS COLLABORATES WITH THE CORK FOREST CONSERVATION ALLIANCE AND LAS GAVARRES CONSORTIUM WITH THE PROJECT “FROM BARK TO THE BOTTLE”
A new eco-tour allows travelers from United States to discover the forest’s biodiversity and the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the area along with the Spanish Cork Industry Manufacturers — in essence, the cork’s path from tree to wine.
The tour, organized by the Cork Forest Conservation Alliance and the ecotourism companies Two Birds-One Stone and Namaste Viajes, lets 40 wine-loving tourists a year experience the cork harvest and its cultural, economic and social nuances.
‘From Bark To Bottle’ wants to show the amazing ethnological and natural wealth of the cork trees we have in the area and the importance of the Spanish Cork Manufacturers.
This is why 4 trips are organized from US to show the participants how is the process to obtain and transform the cork in three Spanish regions: Catalonia, Extremadura and Andalusia.
The Cork is a natural product that helps to preserve the environment and it is really important that people are conscious that once they drink a bottle of wine with cork they are actually preserving the natural biodiversity.
